ATTENTION AND
AWARENESS

This course is based on both theoretical concepts and case studies. It is designed to guide participants in developing a deep understanding of attention and awareness.

Through meditation, participants will be able to experience these states of consciousness until they feel the benefits in their daily lives.

​

Through the practice of attention and awareness, they will build a solid foundation for the development of mindfulness.

COURSE OVERVIEW

 

Module 1: Introduction to the Practice of Attention and Awareness

​

  • The importance of attention and awareness in modern life.

  • Exploring the relationship between the practice of attention, awareness and mindfulness.

  • Introduction to the concept of timed meditation and its benefits.

  • Guided practice: the practice of mindfulness centered on the breath and the importance of the present moment.

 

Module 2: Anchoring the Practice of Attention

  • Attention as a skill to cultivate.

  • Exploration of different attention anchors such as breathing, body sensations and sounds.

  • Developing our ability to maintain attention on a chosen anchor point.

  • Guided practice: Anchoring attention through objects of focus.

 

Module 3: Recognize the Power of Non-judgmental Observation and Acceptance

  • Understand the nature of consciousness and its role in mindfulness.

  • Cultivate a vast awareness, encompassing thoughts, emotions and sensations.

  • Recognize the power of non-judgmental observation and acceptance.

  • Guided practice: Expanding awareness to include thoughts and emotions.

 

Module 4: Integrating Mindfulness Into our Daily Lives

  • Practicing mindfulness in daily activities.

  • Practicing mindfulness in difficult situations and managing stress.

  • Optional final project or presentation highlighting the practice of mindfulness in daily life.

Course material:​

  • Meditations and guided practices.

  • Recommended readings and content for further exploration of the themes covered.

 

Assessment and evaluation:

Keeping a journal in which participants track their own progress and record their ideas.

Group discussions in class or online to share experiences and ask questions.
